The Planning Phase for a Bathroom Remodeling project is not as straightforward as a kitchen remodel, the latter of which is driven by cabinetry order and delivery. Rather, planning time for a bathroom remodeling job is driven by the time required to order and to acquire its total components, and in particular, the fixtures and tile selected. It may take six (6) months to procure special overseas tile which only ships periodically. Special orders may add a week or more of waiting time. It is recommended that Planning start about a month out from the desired start date for the build. Conversely, Bathroom Planning can take as little as one week for a simple procurement of materials.
Bathroom Facelift (less than 1 week; $1,500-$3,000)
A Bathroom Facelift typically includes: new vanity, new mirror, new medicine cabinet, new lighting and repainting.
Standard Remodel (2-3 weeks; $7,000-$12,000)
A Standard Bathroom Remodeling project typically encompasses the components of a Facelift and adds: new tile and/or an updated ventilation system (vent fan).
Major Renovation (4-8 weeks; $15,000-30,000 and over)
A Full Renovation for the bathroom typically includes the aspects of a standard remodel plus these: moving plumbing, adding a large fixture (shower), changing the footprint of the shower, removing a tub, moving or adding walls, gaining space from the other rooms like closets and/or an increase in lighting.
